You know I was going to go into a tirade of defenses, but the bottom line is you people who don't like this rpg element, have hardcore mode. Again Inifinity Ward knew some people may not like it, so they made a mode that is just like Halo, you all start with the same exact assulat rifle with no perks at all, no extras, and you can pick up guns all over the map. So complaining about the rpg element when you have hardcore, is like me complaining about how unfair headquarters gameplay mode when I can just play team deathmatch instead.
again the non-rpg gamemode is in there for you people who don't like rewarding game experience, and are so worrried about unfair gameplay. just play that mode and shut up already.

Now if only Halo had a rpg like gamemode to statisfy the rest of us. No wonder halo isn't selling as well as cod.

The only reason Halo 3 didn't outsell COD 4 is because it's only one platform.  Don't be silly.  Even just on 360, Halo's sold almost 2 million more than COD.

And saying "go play hardcore" is pointless.  There's like 10 people in those lobbies.  That's not the game; it's an extra.  It's like saying "Only play SWAT,and then you'll like Halo."  SWAT=/= Halo, just as Hardcore =/= COD 4

It is ok for people not like a game you like.  Really.  You'll pull through.

I can careless if you like cod4. I'm  not the guy who needed to create a thread to find other people that agree with me. You'll pull through if people like the rpg element in fps titles. And based on the success of cod4 I think you'll be seeing it alot more in games. And considering there are 2 million more people who own halo 3 on the 360, it's amazing that more people are playing cod4 online just on the 360 even despite all the extra stuff that bungie pushes. It's very possible the next Halo game will have a silimiar rpg unlockable.

And about the hardcore lobby, I've tried it a few times, and was always able to get a game going rather quick, so it's a mute point that the lobby isn't popular. But considering how unpopular hardcore is do you really think Inifinity Ward made a poor choice to add the rpglike element?

And personally if they added an extra mode in halo that had the ability to setup classes, I'd totally play it. I don't know what SWAT is in Halo, but if thats the mode you like then play it, I don't get what your saying, you think since hardcore is a side gameplay mode it's not worth bothering with?
