ive only been to aquascalientes (most likely spelt wrong)(1 month), and mexico city (3 days).
The good
- generally everyone outside of authority is friendly.
- Their is a lemon tree, orange tree, and pomelo tree growing on the roof. ( easy access to citrus fruits for the win)
- everything is inexpensive.
- good mexican food (no duh. makes me wonder how they can call the americanized crap by the same name)
- youth are respectful.
- no matter where you are if you have a soccerball its game on.
- Bartering makes shopping fun.
The bad:
- Corruption: I cannot count the amount of times I had seen bribing of police officers and bloody half dead people in the back of police cars (most likely beaten)
- Mexico city is very very dirty.
- The streets are dangerous (In terms of motorvehicles not muggings) as their is no order.
- Water comes to the neighborhood for only four hours out of the day. (storage tanks inside and on roof. I don't know how widespread this is)
- run its another salesman.
In between: (good and bad)
- If your white everyone assumes your from the u.s.
- If your white you will have many many stalker girls. By the end of our stay (1 month) every unmarried woman (14 and up) in the neighborhood wanted to be our bride. We would arrive home and they would have dinner waiting for us as well as lunches for tommorow (we didn't accept or eat any of their food for safety reasons). They would be outside our front gate when we leave in the morning (all prettied up). If we went to the park they would go to the park. If we went and played soccer they would come watch. We go to the store and parents are their with pictures offering them to us. The rest of my description is non soriku safe you can fill in the blanks.
