I just finished my 100 Game PS2 Collection this year and am only about 5 games away from finishing my 80 game PS1 collection. Feel free to browse my collection because I put decades into finding all the best hidden gems and must-own games on PS2/PS1. Lots of hidden RPGs and lots of games that made excellent use of the PS1's 2D power as well. Very few games from PS1 that have aged poorly IMO.

Here's my PS2 collection in Alphabetical Order: https://www.pricecharting.com/offers?status=collection&seller=z7k4dvglkmyknuh74nsmqtjoeq&sort=name&category=video-games&console=G7&folder-id=&condition-id=all

PS2 Slim is fine but there's a few things you may want to do to it to make it last longer...

1. Replace the DVD drive ribbon cable (easy).
2. Don't play DVD Movies on it. That wears out your laser.
3. Install the Laser Fix mod found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcoW77kddLw

As for getting the best graphics out of it a CRT with Component or RGB Scart cables works best. You can also get a retrotink to upscale it to a modern TV without any pesky input lag introduced. Also, the higher-end Retrotink devices are excellent at recreating all the different effects of a CRT. The phosphor glow of a CRT is like natural anti-aliasing. Scanlines are needed to see PS2 games as they were intended.

I forgot to mention that old ribbon cables will ring scratche a disk and ruin it. So replacing the DVD ribbon cable is a must if you buy any expensive games.
