NVIDIA releases GeForce 617.70 hotfix driver to fix G-SYNC Pulsar 320 FPS bug and black flashes
https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-releases-geforce-617-70-hotfix-driver-to-fix-g-sync-pulsar-320-fps-bug-and-black-flashes
NVIDIA has released GeForce Hotfix Driver 617.70, addressing two problems affecting 360Hz gaming monitors. The update targets an issue that can limit frame rates to 320 FPS on G-SYNC Pulsar displays and another that causes temporary black screens during gameplay.

The hotfix is based on GeForce 617.42 WHQL and is available as a separate download for Windows 10 and Windows 11. NVIDIA had previously planned to include these fixes in its regular driver releases, but they missed multiple release dates.

Epic said its game launcher was faster than Steam on the same day Steam got a speed boost—so I've put both to the test
https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/epic-said-its-game-launcher-was-faster-than-steam-on-the-same-day-steam-got-a-speed-boost-so-ive-put-both-to-the-test/
Catching a glimpse of my screen is often a stressful experience for my colleagues. Besides my mess of desktop icons and all the browser tabs I have open at any given time, you don't want to know how many things I have set to launch on startup. Among these are, of course, the Steam and Epic Games Store clients and let me tell ya, not all launchers are created equal.
Earlier this week, Epic shared on X that it had "vibe coded the Epic Games Launcher to be faster than the other guy." On the same day, Valve released a Steam Client update that "Improved Steam Client startup performance." Well, there's only one thing for it: I've got to benchmark these bad boys to determine once and for all whose launcher is actually faster.
>> The numbers he got are different from the ones reported elsewhere, including the article posted by Jizz. Here Steam is still a fair bit slower.

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Unofficial PC Port Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/uncharted-the-nathan-drake-collection-unofficial-pc-port-released/
A lot of players have wanted to experience the first three classic Uncharted games on PC. So, imagine their disappointment when Sony ported Uncharted 4 to PC, but not its three previous games. But now, thanks to the new PC recompilation scene, fans can finally play Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on PC.
This unofficial PC port of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection comes from the same man behind the PC port of Bloodborne. It features a launcher that lets you launch and play the three classic Uncharted games. It also comes with numerous PC options.
Furthermore, the port supports framerates above 60FPS. From what I’ve seen, an AMD Ryzen 5 7500F with 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER can run all three games at 120FPS at native 1440p.
What’s also cool is that all three games support keyboard and mouse. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. A keyboard and mouse are the best way to play first-person and third-person games. Say what you want, but aiming and moving the camera feels much better with a mouse. It’s far faster and more precise than using a gamepad.
And that’s not all. The PC port supports Anti-aliasing with TAA, AMD FSR 3.1, AMD FSR 4, or NVIDIA DLSS (DLAA). Hell, it even supports AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation and NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Multi-Frame Gen.
Now, as with all PC recompilations, this first public release has a couple of issues. So, consider it a beta release. Over time, it will get even better. For instance, frame rates above 120 are experimental, and they could introduce issues. Some green or black shapes can flash for one frame on some characters in Uncharted 3. Supermedo is currently looking into fixing it.
Even in its current state, this PC port is a great way to experience the first three classic Uncharted games. So, if you haven’t played them, I suggest doing so. You can go ahead and download the PC port from this link (Github).

Shadow of the Colossus PS4 Remake Gets Unofficial PC Port
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/shadow-of-the-colossus-ps4-remake-gets-unofficial-pc-port/
Shadow of the Colossus is a truly amazing game. So, I’m happy to report that an unofficial PC port of the PS4 remake has just appeared online. This PC port will allow PC gamers to experience this PS4-only game on their PCs.
Now, I have some good and some bad news. The good news is that the PC port already supports keyboard and mouse. It also supports 60FPS, and it allows you to use resolutions up to 4K.
The bad news is that, at least in its current state, this is a really basica AI PC recompilation. It is based on the Bloodborne PC port, and it relies heavily on shadPS4. It also uses the 60FPS patch that Illusion created for PS4. Yes, this PC port runs natively on PC. However, I was hoping it would not rely that much on shadPS4.
But what about performance? According to its creator, the game runs at around 67FPS at the demo title screen on an NVIDIA RTX 2060 SUPER. However, it drops to 29–34 FPS in the heaviest sections.
YouTube’s ‘shinoum’ has also shared a video, showcasing 17 minute of gameplay from it. The YouTuber used an Intel Core i5-14600K with 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 TI. The heaviest parts of the game run at 40FPS on this PC system.
Anyway, if you’ve always wanted to play the PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus on PC, you can do so right now. Just make sure to temper your expectations. From what I’ve seen, you can play it, from start to finish. However, you may encounter some bugs. As I said, this is a beta release. You can download it from here (Github).

The Last Guardian Just Got an Unofficial PC Port
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-last-guardian-just-got-an-unofficial-pc-port/
And here comes another PC port of another PS4 exclusive game. So far, we’ve gotten Bloodborne, Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, God of War 3 Remastered, and Konami’s P.T. canceled demo. And now, an unofficial PC port of The Last Guardian has been released, allowing PC gamers to play and enjoy this title too.
First things first. The PC port has a frame rate option. The default is 30 FPS, just like on PS4. However, you can try 60 FPS or an unlocked frame rate. Do note, though, that these modes are still in an experimental stage.
The port currently supports 1080p, and from what I’ve seen, it does not allow you to change the internal resolution. However, you can use SMAA to smooth jagged edges. You can also sharpen the image with RCAS or CAS. Other options let you change brightness, contrast, color, and gamma.
The port supports DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox, and 8BitDo pads. You can plug in a pad while the game is running. It also supports motion controls. If your pad has no gyro, you can use other controls to copy these moves.
What’s really important to note is that the PC port already supports keyboard and mouse. The mouse lets you move the camera, and you can change its speed. You can hold View/Select (or Tab) and move the right stick (or the arrow keys) to swipe. You can also do a swipe with a quick tap. Additionally, you can remap all keys and mouse buttons. So, even though this PC port is in a beta stage, it already has KB&M support.
You can change settings in the launcher or in the game. By pressing the Insert key, you can open the in-game menu. You can also enable an FPS counter and check how the game runs on your PC.
The port can save your progress, and it has an autosave and a Continue option. Moreover, it has a shader cache which can help the game reuse shaders it has built before. This can help avoid slowdowns over time. You can clear the cache if you need to.
If you’ve always wanted to play The Last Guardian on PC, you can now do so with this unofficial port. Keep in mind that this is its first public release, so it’s still in beta. The work is far from done.
HayatoG has also shared a roadmap for the project. First, he wants to test 60 FPS across the whole game. Next, he plans to fix visual bugs that may affect some effects. He also aims to add control over the game’s internal resolution. After that, he hopes to add support for AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS.
You can go ahead and download the PC port from this link (Github).

First Look at NightCoop, a Co-Op Mod for Cyberpunk 2077’s Campaign
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/cyberpunk-2077-gets-its-first-look-at-nightcoop-a-campaign-co-op-mod/
Cyberpunk 2077 will soon get a co-op mod that will let you play its full story campaign mode with your friends. This mod is called NightCoop, and below, you can watch its first gameplay video.
Going into more detail, the host’s save will control the quests, NPCs, and city. Each player will join as their own V, with their own look, level, gear, and cyberware.
With NightCoop, both players will be able to vote on dialogue choices. The choice with the most votes wins for both players. Story scenes and skips also happen at the same time, so you stay in sync.
The mod keeps enemies and NPCs in sync, too. One player’s game runs them, then shares their state with the other player. You can also ride together, train in VR, and make timed choices as a team.
NightCoop also has a PvP mode. You can turn it on with one switch. It adds full damage, Sandevistan, and a system that lets you get downed and revived.
Now, for those who didn’t know, there is another multiplayer mod in development. This mod is called CyberMP, and it will allow you to explore Night City together with your friends. It will also allow you to create your own server with cool and special features.
So, what’s the difference between NightCoop and CyberMP? NightCoop aims to offer a co-op mode for the campaign. On the other hand, CyberMP aims to provide a new multiplayer experience.
There is currently no ETA for when NightCoop will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
