Let’s see how the Monday gaming news turn after not making the Friday ones:
SALES/PLAYER COUNTS & DEALS
Wardogs sold over 1 million copies in its first 24 hours, making its launch a bright spot in an otherwise tough year for multiplayer shooters
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/wardogs-sold-over-1-million-copies-in-its-first-24-hours-making-its-launch-a-bright-spot-in-an-otherwise-tough-year-for-multiplayer-shooters/
All signs have pointed to Wardogs being a hit for a while now. Its beta weekend in August was rapturously received, with half a million players lining up to check out its prerelease playtest. When the game launched into early access last week, so many people rushed to get on board that it collapsed the game's servers.
Now, developer Bulkhead has released its initial sales figures for Wardogs, and they are unsurprisingly very strong. The multiplayer FPS sold 1.25 million copies within 24 hours, and that number is likely to be much higher by now.
Bulkhead played it cool while announcing the milestone, simply thanking players and reassuring them that the studio is "watching everything, monitoring servers, and enjoying watching you play". That middle point is likely made in response to the flurry of negative reviews Wardogs received in the wake of its server troubles.

Nintendo GameCube Classic Pikmin Gets an Unofficial PC Version
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/nintendo-gamecube-classic-pikmin-gets-an-unofficial-pc-version/
Nintendo PC fans, here is something for you today. An unofficial PC version of the Nintendo GameCube classic, Pikmin, has just been released. This unofficial PC version runs the game code directly on the host system and translates GX to OpenGL. Moreover, it does not use Dolphin or any emulator, meaning that this is a proper native PC version.
What’s cool here is that the PC version of Pikmin offers three framerate options. PC gamers can choose between 30FPS, 60FPS, or 120FPS. These framerate settings are selectable from the in-game menu.
Not only that, but we have support for widescreen monitors. The HUD is laid out for 16:9 rather than stretched, and the 3D view culls to the same shape, so nothing pops in and out at the sides.
We also get some PC graphics settings. PC gamers can enable or disable antialiasing, restored fog, bloom, ambient occlusion, depth of field, texture filtering, and colour grading.
Finally, the PC version of Pikmin supports keyboard and mouse controls. This is a huge deal and a great quality-of-life improvement. So, I hope more upcoming unofficial PC ports of console games have day-one keyboard and mouse support.
You can download Pikmin PC from here (Github). As with all recompilations, it does not contain any in-game assets. So, to use it, you’ll have to provide your own ROM file. The project supports both Pikmin USA Rev 1 and Pikmin Europe.

Unofficial PC Version of Spider-Man: Edge of Time Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/unofficial-pc-version-of-spider-man-edge-of-time-released/
And here comes another one. An unofficial PC version of the 2011 Spider-Man game, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, has just been released. This game came out on Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii. And now, over a decade later, PC gamers can play it natively on their platform.
Spider-Man: Edge of Time is a linear third-person action game that lets you play as two versions of Spider-Man: Peter Parker and Spider-Man 2099. The two heroes live in different time periods, but their actions are linked. This is also a big part of the gameplay. What one Spider-Man does in the past can change the world of the other Spider-Man in the future.
(***Five paragraphs describing the game***)
Now, what’s cool here is that this unofficial PC version supports keyboard and mouse. We also get proper on-screen KB&M prompts, and you can rebind your keys. Since Spider-Man: Edge of Time is a third-person game, it can greatly benefit from proper KB&M controls. So, I’m really glad we got them from the get-go.
It’s also worth noting that GenryTheFox, the one who has brought us this PC version, has included an optional experimental DLSS 5 Mod. So, if you own a high-end NVIDIA RTX GPU, you might want to give it a go. At the end of the article, you can find a video that shows what you can achieve with DLSS 5.
You can go ahead and download the PC version from here (Github). As with all recompilations, it does not contain any in-game assets. As such, you will have to provide your own ROM/ISO.

Unreal Revived Brings a Major Upgrade With a DX12 Renderer, VR, and Widescreen Support
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/unreal-revived-brings-a-major-upgrade-with-a-dx12-renderer-vr-and-widescreen-support/
In 2018, we informed you about a mod that attempted to remaster the classic Unreal game. At that time, only a couple of levels were working with it. And now, over eight years later, we have a version that lets you play the entire game.
Unreal Revived, formerly known as Unreal VR, is a modernization package for playing the original Unreal Gold on modern PCs. It keeps the original game content and gameplay while adding a new DX12 renderer. It also adds better display options, updated menus, improved controls, and wide gamepad support. This includes Xbox Series controllers, DualShock 4, DualSense, and other SDL-compatible controllers.
What’s also cool here is that Unreal Revived also supports VR. As such, those with a VR headset will be able to play this classic FPS in VR. Since we don’t get a lot of new VR games, these VR mods are a dream come true for all VR gamers.
It’s also worth noting that Unreal Revived supports 4K resolutions and widescreen monitors. It also has a number of post-processing effects, including CRT scanlines. Moreover, the new DX12 renderer supports corrected HD lightmaps, high-quality textures, alpha blending, and configurable VSync.
You can go ahead and download Unreal Revived from here (Github). Do note that Unreal Revived does not contain any in-game assets. As such, you’ll also need to download Unreal Gold from here (oldunreal.com). The good news is that Unreal Gold is free to download. So, you won’t have to pay for anything in order to play Unreal Revived.

Demon’s Souls Remake Hits 30 FPS on PC via KyTyPS5 in Record Time
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/demons-souls-remake-hits-30-fps-on-pc-via-kytyps5-in-record-time/
It appears that KyTyPS5 has almost hit the third major milestone for emulating Demon’s Souls Remake. In just one day, we went from 2 FPS to 18 FPS. And now, its latest build can run Demon’s Souls Remake at 30 FPS, though there are numerous drops below that framerate target.
Now, the reason I say that this is the third major milestone is quite simple. The first milestone was booting the game. The second was to go in-game. And now, the third is to get to at least 30 FPS.
But anyway, YouTube’s PSXTech has shared the following video. In this video, we get to see Demon’s Souls Remake hitting 30 FPS on KyTyPS5.
As you will see, there is a particular area in which we get 30 FPS. While moving the camera around, we get drops to 18 FPS. So, this isn’t a stable 30 FPS experience. I also see numerous framepacing issues. As such, it will take a while to get a stable 30 FPS.
Sadly, PSXTech did not share the specs of the PC they used. So, we don’t know what CPU and GPU were used to capture this gameplay footage.

Sony Shuts Down PC Multiplayer Mod for The Last of Us Part 2
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/sony-shuts-down-pc-multiplayer-mod-for-the-last-of-us-part-2/
In June 2026, we informed you about a mod that aimed to add a Multiplayer Mode to The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. That mod was planned to be released this month. However, its creator has announced that Sony got in touch with him and asked him to shut it down.
Although The Last of Us Part 2 did not have a Multiplayer Mode, the first game featured a 4v4 multiplayer mode called Factions. However, Naughty Dog decided to remove that mode from the sequel.
With this mod, PC gamers would be able to get a taste of what a Factions mode could feel like in TLOU Part 2. However, Sony ruined those plans.
>> There are two videos showing how the mod would have worked.
Unofficial PC Version of Xbox 360 Classic Lost Odyssey Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/unofficial-pc-version-of-xbox-360-classic-lost-odyssey-released/
Xbox 360 fans, here is something for you. An unofficial PC version of the classic Japanese turn-based RPG, Lost Odyssey, has just been released.
For those who did not know, Lost Odyssey is a classic Japanese role-playing game, featuring turn-based combat. You control a party of heroes as they travel across a large fantasy world. The game mixes classic RPG systems with a few unique ideas.
(***Here would go five paragraphs describing the game***)
The PC version supports resolutions up to 4K. It also supports 30 and 60 FPS, something that will please a lot of people. There are also some basic graphics settings, like FXAA, SMAA, and High Filtering. From what I can see, it also supports both gamepads and the keyboard.
You can go ahead and download it from here (Github). Do note that, as with all recompilations, it does not feature any in-game assets. In other words, you’ll have to provide your own ROM/ISO.

This remarkable mod transforms the most frightening horror game of the decade into Mirror's Edge
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/horror/this-remarkable-mod-transforms-the-most-frightening-horror-game-of-the-decade-into-mirrors-edge/
Amnesia: The Bunker is without a doubt the most frightening horror game I've played this decade. Its terrifying tale of being chased through a crumbling French bunker by a monster has the darkest, thickest, most unnerving atmosphere of any horror game I've played since Alien: Isolation. It's so intense that it's hard to imagine anyone making something light and airy out of its subterranean warrens, and it's downright inconceivable that someone might, say, turn Amnesia: The Bunker into Mirror's Edge.
And yet, that's exactly what modder TiMan has done. Created for Frictional Games' 2026 modding jam—which ran with the theme of 'What is reality?'—Bunker's Edge (Steam’s Workshop) sees the base game's protagonist Henri transported through a portal from the trenches of war-ravaged France to the pristine skyline of EA's free-running classic.
The change of scenery alone is remarkable. The Bunker's HPL engine is purpose built to deliver darkness, shadows and murk, so seeing it handle such a bright and colourful environment is mightily impressive. But what's really interesting is how TiMan has implemented all of Mirror's Edge's free-running mechanics. Mantling, sliding, wall-running, pipe-climbing, runner's vision, that 180-degree wall-jump that I always struggled to perform in the base game, it's all here.
Despite the breezier setting, Bunker's Edge is still a horror game. The Bunker's monster has followed Henri through the portal, and chases him across the rooftops just as relentlessly as it stalks him through the base game's subterranean fortification.
All told, it's a snazzy bit of modding showmanship, though there are a couple of points to be aware of. First off, Bunker's Edge is (very understandably) not as slick as actual Mirror's Edge. Some of Henri's parkour moves, like sliding, are a little awkward, and more than once I clambered straight through a wall and found myself trapped inside the world geometry.
The other thing to note is that Bunker's Edge is very short. You can blast through the whole thing in about 15 minutes. The ending is also extremely weird, not what you'd expect from either The Bunker or Mirror's Edge.

Microsoft has released a new in-engine trailer for Gears of War: E-Day. It features a cover of Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings. And while this is not a gameplay or in-game trailer, it can give us an idea of what the game may look like. It won’t look exactly like this. But, in theory, it should come close.
