You have horrible writers that want LGBT+ representation and so they change lore to suit their case.
And make up some weird Love interest between two characters that actually hate/dislike one another.... because you want more gay representation ingame.

Do you not see how that can be annoying to people that read the comics?

As far as I know.... Logan is just a "straight" male.
Him having a romantic past with Saber tooth is crazy.
(also one is a serial killer (that has even killed a logans Girlfriend at one point) and the other is supposed to be the good guy)
(they are kinda alike, both suffer with rage.... and one controls it and funnels it into something positive... the other one not so much)

He is supposed to be the bad guy. Not the normal'ish guy, that used to be a past romantic love interest thingy.

"To me the big Xbox franchises still very much focus on the dude-bro audience. Which is fine, if they actually delivered the goods."

Part of the reason they are not delivering "the goods" is because of the people making choices like above.
Sweetbaby inc ect.

You cannot convince me, this makes for better games.
It is actually hurting them.

"Maybe I am not in touch with public discourse anymore, since I pulled the plug on social media, but LGBT skins in Halo sounds like an issue for a very small minority of people"

Multiplayer is whatever.... but it is silly.... their Armour is meant to be camouflage / military style to look like it "fits in", in the military.
Does a rainbow colored Armour do that? It breaks the "concept" or world building of the game, and injects social political points of view into a game.
Some people (majority) would rather not see that in games. They want to relax and not have stuff shoved in their face, when they are trying to play a game.

At best it is just a waste of time, to spend resources doing stuff like that.
At worse, it is off putting and hurting the game, as there are people that will actually stop playing if they see their game treated like that.
People that might have bought it, that then don't because "this is too silly" ect.

You can argue there are people that are LBGT that want these skins ect... but they represent like 0.0001% of the buyers or something.
You likely do more harm than good here, in terms of sales ect.

Again instead of focusing on stuff like that, I would rather they spend that time fixing bugs or something... anything else that could better the game.

"Do you not see how that can be annoying to people that read the comics?"

I understand that it wasn't necessarily Insomniac's focus to stay close to the source material. If that is the story they want to tell, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to give it a shot. Maybe it works or maybe it falls flat on the face, it sounds like something that would be difficult to pull off, but I haven't played the game, so I don't know. It's not something I could get angry over. It is certainly possible that they wanted to make an "inclusive game", and it ended up sucking because of it, but there are also plenty of great games that are accused of the same.

Sticking close to the source material is not always a requirement, I am a huge fan of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein. The Universal movies from the 30s were extremely unfaithful and did something very different. I still enjoy them regardless, and so do many others.

But isn't that PlayStation, not Xbox? As far as I can see Sweetbaby has been involved in some pretty successful PlayStation titles, and I think PlayStation fans have been very satisfied with those and the first party titles in general, judging from sales.

I really cannot see how a game like Halo Infinite not turning out better is related to some political agendas involved. Bugs, average level design, lackluster graphics held it back. Some skins that come out years later isn't the issue. If someone stops playing a game because of a rainbow skin, they are just limiting themselves from enjoying good things because of irrelevent details.

Xbox has alot of Sweetbaby inc stuff too.
These consultants of diversity and inclusion are hurting games everywhere.
For the most part.... eastern devs seem to not care as much (mainly the Chinese).

"As far as I can see Sweetbaby has been involved in some pretty successful PlayStation titles"

a broken watch is right a few times a day as well..... that is more happenstance than anything.
The majority of the time, these consultants hurt games more than they help them (imo).

HR and Hiring practices.
Its like a cult that only hires others like minded.

It is a symptom of the problem that there are rainbow flag skins.

It comes down to who you hire.

The ones that push this agenda.... are more interested in pushing a agenda, than making a great game.
That often turns out true. The more of these types you have in a studio, the higher chances the game turns out crap.
Same with Sweetbaby inc involvement in the games. The more they do and influence, the worse the game.

That is why Steam has a Sweetbaby inc detected list.

Humans see paterns.

If something repeated happens when sweetbaby inc is there,.... you go
"huh? this game must such because of them or their influence (or the people that allowed them to affect the game)"
