Wel, the excuse is said in the video: AI. Many models are build for Nvidia first, with CUDA in mind, and then ported to other workloads. And with the higher-end cards being so ridiculously expensive, the 5060Ti, with its 16GB of VRAM, has become the new go-to card for those that want to try run AI models locally.
And that's why price has gone so much up, because that demand... and also because Nvidia has raised the GPU+Memory chips bundle beyond the actual price increase they've had, so their margin is even bigger now.
