@bold: I've seen you make this claim several times over the past few weeks. I'm sure you're not the only one who feels this way.

But can you explain why you feel this way? What didn't you enjoy about Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, Kirby Air Riders, Age of Imprisonment, Pokopia, Star Fox, Splatoon Raiders, etc.? I'm curious, because I think Nintendo is doing quite well in the exclusives department. I'm actually struggling to keep up with them.

Sorry for the delay in replying, and thanks for considering my points.

There is so much to say that it’s hard to find the words and summarize everything in a text of a length I’m willing to write...

I’d say the main point is the number of "impressive" games...

First off, I have to say that—in my humble opinion (IMHO)—a console's first year or two are usually weak; this isn't something unique to the Switch 2. I mean, up until 2024, I thought the PS5 lineup was weak and unimpressive, and only now is it starting to get interesting.

That said, my impression—and that of my friends—is that the few Switch 2 games revealed so far aren't impressive or particularly appealing. To me, almost all of them look like secondary IPs, spin-offs, or low-quality titles (like Pokémon and Metroid Prime 4).

It pales in comparison to the Switch's first year...which had *BotW* and *Odyssey*.

Switch  had a lineup that grabbed your interest regardless of your preferences. Add to that the ports of great games from the failed Wii U, and you had something promising right from Year 1!!

Unlike Switch, Switch 2 seems to appeal mostly to the audience that loves Nintendo and its characters—people who feel hyped or connected just by "stepping into the shoes" of the character.

Another point... I don't judge the Switch 2 as a console that "complements PC/PS/Xbox well." I evaluate it based on its own individual merits... I don't judge it, or any hardware, as "the machine to play exclusives".

Can I play the best games of the year on a Switch 2? That's the point, my question.

Only 2025–2026 window, I see the PS5 offering titles like:

- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

- Ghost of Yotei

- MH: Wilds

- 007 First Light

- Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

- Death Stranding 2: On The Beach

Many others i couldn't play, like Saros, Arc Raiders, Silent Hill f, Nioh 3, etc...

Even when I limit the scope to just 2025–26—aligning with the Switch 2 launch— when I compare the games I can play on a PS5 vs games I can play on a Switch 2... My conclusion is that Switch 2 is weak! Truly very weak!!

Let Nintendo cook for 1-2 years, they need more than this.

Thanks for this passionate reply, but this isn't quite what I was looking for. Can you tell me how the individual games are deficient? What did you specifically dislike about Donkey Kong Bananza, Splatoon Raiders, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Pokopia, etc.?
