Which Do You Consider More Successful: PS1 or PS2?

I picked the PS2 because it is the best selling console of all time, but PS1 established Sony in a very competitive industry vs juggernauts like SEGA and Nintendo - No easy feat! Without what the PS1 managed to do, PS2 would not have sold so much. Both are extremely successful.
