| Bizwas said: While we probably all have a feeling for what we mean here, I think the games mentioned in the opening post are not coherently supporting our classification of "the Switch 2 way" vs. "the PS5 way", with Mario Kart and Donkey Kong Bananza definitely being blockbuster titles (I would argue Astrobot is more experimental and out of line for Sony than Donkey Kong is for Nintendo) and Saros (and Returnal) being a lot more niche and experimental. Pikmin 4 I do not classify as a blockbuster game. |
Lol oof that's some strong language. But the "Switch 2 way" isn't necessarily and sufficiently about a game being niche. It could be experimental. So games that are a bit less niche but is still a bit experimental I would include in aligning with the "Nintendo Switch 2 way" (e.g. MKWorld and DKBananza), as well as games which are a bit more niche but play it safer (e.g. Kirby Air Riders).
Also yeah Saros you could probably argue more that it's not blockbuster and more experimental. I was just thinking from the perspective of "Saros is a bigger-budget sequel to Returnal".
