It won't change anything, because even if Xbox comes out with a disc drive, PlayStation will be able to counter them immediately with a cheaper console—like a digital-only PS6. Plus, we don't even know Sony's strategy for the PS6 yet. On top of that, physical sales for Xbox are in free fall.
As for the spike in Xbox console sales in June, it makes sense: consumers are buying the Xbox before the price hike. So Xbox sales will probably be stronger in July as well, but starting in August, they'll drop back down quickly, a bit like the Switch 2 in Japan. So no, I don't think Xbox is making a comeback.
