If the PS5 really did have a couple blockbuster releases every year I would prefer that, since I really don't have time to play many games. But I don't think that is the reality. The PS5 is almost 6 years old, and it definitely doesn't have what I'd consider twelve block-buster exclusives, even if you include timed-exclusives or console exclusives. I can only get to that number if we include remasters. And that is going by a literal definition of "a couple per year." As much as I like Returnal, I think it definitely belongs in the experimental camp, and I am guessing it is the same for Saros (which I haven't yet played.) I suspect that by the end of its life Switch 2 will have more "blockbusters", at least if we only include exclusives/timed-exclusives/console-exclusives.
The appeal of the PS5 is that it is the most accessible and expedient way to play most non-Nintendo games, if you only want to buy one platform. For the average gamer it gets you the most bang for your buck (or at least it did until the price increases.)
