What is the way of Nintendo Switch 2? A steady stream of low-profile releases that hit-or-miss. Very experimental, somewhat niche, and consequently may divide fans. Some example games include Yoshi & the Mysterious Book, Splatoon Raiders, Pokémon Pokopia, Mario Tennis Fever, as well as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza (which, while not niche, do opt for a much more bold approach to the kart racing, platformer genres respectfully).
What is the way of PlayStation 5? A consistent release pattern of a couple blockbuster releases every year. Sometimes these games will play a bit too safe, veering away from experimentation so as to reduce any possibility of alienating consumers, but rarely do these gams lack quality. Some example games include God of War: Ragnörak, SpiderMan 2, Ghost of Yōtei, Horizon Forbidden West, Wolverine, and (I'd even say) Saros.
Personally, when done right, I think either approach works perfectly well. My favorite years in gaming tend to be the ones where a major blockbuster releases that leaves a major impact on me (e.g. 2017 with SMOdyssey and BotW, 2018 with Smash Ultimate, 2023 with TotK, Pikmin 4, and Mario Wonder), though I also do greatly appreciate years where it's simply a steady stream of good fun games (e.g. this year with Splatoon Raiders, Mario Tennis Fever, and Mario Wonder DLC— a lot of options available so you don't ever feel you're without any game to give a test run.).
