I no longer have any interest in short games. If it's not something complex or deep that I can really sink my teeth into then I don't want to bother with it. I hate tutorials, I hate all the exposition at the start of games, I just want to get through all of that and spend hours exploring or progressing. I want to think about my next step while I'm at work then get home and spend a few more hours working toward a goal or uncovering the world. I like games that I spend months playing.
That doesn't apply to games that are pure game-play with high replay value, though. I still play tower defense games that make you think or try new tactics, for example.
Statistics show that most people who play video-games only play a very few titles. The people who play a bunch of different games have become the outliers.
