Take it with a grain of salt, Jez Corden says Microsoft exploring options to eventually stop releasing on Steam.

I can see them potentially changing first-party games to be Microsoft Store exclusive. If the next Xbox is Windows-based, naturally leading Steam, EGS, GOG etc also being available, MS wouldn’t want to lose sales on their own platform to third-party storefronts at a time where they’re struggling already.
