8GB only works well enough on Mac and Chromebooks. Anyone needing Windows should try and find at least 24GB.

Was also fine on my Linux work laptop a couple of years ago while running several virtual machines, among other things. Getting a new laptop was certainly an improvement, but I don't feel like the tight RAM fit was ever an issue. Meanwhile a colleague had issues with 8 GB on Windows much before that... If you need a breath of air for a low-RAM PC, just install Linux.

I forgot about Linux, I may try it one day.
