CD sales are booming as physical music makes a comeback

This is akin to hypothetically looking at console sales circa 2050 and saying they're booming because they sold 11,000 worldwide in total vs. 10,000 the month before.

The highest selling year for cds was the year 2000 with 942.5 million sold in the United States. Not sure where you're getting the 500 million per quarter figure? 

Physical media for music has been on the rise for quite a while now. With vinyl sales surpassing 1 billion dollars in America in 2025. It's a very positive sign to see cd sales are growing even faster than vinyl.
