Your dismissive attitude to critique of views you support is no different, tbqh. At the end of the day, the PS6 hasn't been announced. The details surrounding a digital only PS hasn't been announced.

If Sony and the PS6 end up being all your worst fears, then sure your fears are validated. You can go buy another console.

A lot of people who are digital only already understand the concept of a license and what that entails. And yet they've continued to remain digital. One can only hope that digital rights managements improve on that front. This is where you energy should be going rather than complaining about the lack of physical again.

But you are right about the license being revoked for the Studio Canal videos. I shouldn't have dismissed that.

Everything sony is doing is pointing to one direction and one direction only.

It's only going to get a lot worse.

From what i know isnt sony actively working on "monitizing" the user base even more then activily working on way to increase the userbase/make more money on a bigger userbass.

From what i know didnt sony already sort of say their working on a way to include "ads" in their games?/console.

Its NOT fearmongering

Its looking at the data what sony is doing.

Now does it aply to digital and physical i agree, that would prob be the case in term of adding ads.

And the ONLY way sony is going to get away with this is if people would say" ow well who cares!" Like you it seems.

You pay more, own nothing, gets less content and yet certain people remain loyal to sony.

Sony is not a god, their not untouchable, they can get bankrupt, they will come begging and crawling back IF we as gamers just simply,DONT SUPPORT THEM.

Monetizing the existing userbase could mean literally anything: Adding features to higher PS+ tiers to convince existing uses to upgrade is monetising the userbase. Having regular sales to encourage more spending is monetising the userbase. Adding more Dualsense and faceplate colours is monetising the userbase.

These are logical examples. Yet, this thread is filled with users echoing more increasing the price of PS+ (correlation not causation), adding ads to games (which appears to come from a patent), and forcing people into a subscription just to play games (which is quite frankly the most laughable suggestion) as if these are all confirmed to be happening. And anyone who has a thought different from the groupthink here is being demonised.

How else should I view this except as very blatant examples of fearmongering?

Should we be concerned? Sure, no company is your friend. But will Sony do these things you claim they will? Maybe. Or maybe they won't. We just don't know.
