If anything, black American LGBTQ intolerance is inherited from the Bible thumping southern U.S. rather than their African counterparts. Common mistake of conflating black Americans with native Africans. 

Black Americans seem worse than white people though. 
 Perhaps you haven’t been around a lot of black people or aren’t on the queer team so you haven’t gotten the same reactions.
