When iTunes dropped people stopped buying CDs. When Spotify dropped people stopped buying digital music and instead streamed it. A lot of these things are singularities because human behaviour typically leans in the direction of convenience & abundance. I think People really ought to focus attention on digital rights management/regulation etc instead of hoping they die or shouting into a cloud. I do think there is hope in that physical things become novel again (see Vinyl) etc |
I agree with the digital rights management/ regulation point. This should be the focal point, and can only hope governments do better with this.
