I remember when Nintendo launched a $250 tiny DS successor with no relevant launch titles, for the first 8 months. And Sony's Vita was even worse. Then the handheld market crashed. And people claimed it was smartphones, instead of a 200% price hike in handheld hardware.

This will happen with game consoles. They will die out. And instead of pointing to multiple price increases on 5-year-old consoles, no disk games, and a disastrous focus on live-service games, they will claim that PC and mobile were "the main downfall of game consoles".
