Good. About damn time. The digital to Phyiscal ratio on PlayStation has been 4 to 1 for about a few years now.
Microsoft must be salivating now that Sony has taken all the bad press and they can follow suit.
Steam had this since their inception and no one bats an eye.
And for those that are crying about this, You must be glad that it took them this long to go fully digital.

Physical have always been a sort of back-up even if one buys digital. The fact that it is possible to buy a game or movie on a physical disk makes that game or movie available even when the servers close or the license right is re-negotiated or a library is bought.

With the option completely gone there will be an economic incentive to simple "refresh" the access to the digital game library in order to make people buy it again. Without the backup of physical media the number of re-buys increases a lot when ones favorite game is no longer playable for some arbitrary reason.
