SALES/PLAYER COUNTS & DEALS
Hide-and-seek game where you paint your body to blend in sells a million copies in four days
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/hide-and-seek-game-where-you-paint-your-body-to-blend-in-sells-a-million-copies-in-four-days/
In Meccha Chameleon, you begin play as a featureless, white, blobby biped—but you don't stay that way. Indeed, it's a wacky hide-and-seek game where instead of morphing into a prop or smashing serial killers' knees with a wood pallet, you paint your body on the fly using a color wheel to blend in with your surroundings. If that sounds fun to you, you're not alone: the game just sold a million copies in four days.
That sales figure comes from a short and sweet Steam community blog post, where developer lemorion_1224 simply wrote "Thank you so much for playing!" It seems like the game has been big with streamers and YouTubers, which probably helped. The developer appears to be leaning in given that the game proudly "supports public matches and streaming," as its description states.
Steam's second most-played game right now is reportedly a bot-filled marketplace that can get you banned
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/steams-second-most-played-game-right-now-is-reportedly-a-bot-filled-marketplace-that-can-get-you-banned/
If you check in with Steam's player population data as much as I do, then you'll know it's pretty common to see an idle game towards the top. Bongo Cat has been sitting up there for basically a year. Banana holds the title of tenth-highest all-time concurrent player peak on Steam.
Out with the old, and in with the new, as Task Bar Hero launched at the end of May and reached a height of roughly 450,000 concurrent players overnight. Just this weekend, it hit a new all-time peak of 526,596 concurrent players. That puts it below Counter-Strike 2, but above the likes of Dota 2, PUBG, and Path of Exile 2.
I'm partial to an idle game (Ropuka's Idle Island, mainly), but I was sceptical of how a taskbar idle RPG would spread like wildfire. Turns out, the items you're passively earning can be sold on the Steam marketplace, similar to Banana's banana JPEGs. From a quick parse of the listings, most items are pretty worthless, but there are a few weapons and armour 'worth' anywhere from £50 to £150. There's currently also a legendary bow that someone's hoping to sell for £1,183.16.
(...)
The real kicker is that it's reportedly the culprit for false flag bans, which will show on your Steam profile. Because it's an idle game that lives on your taskbar, you'll naturally open other programmes while it weasels away in the background. This can apparently trigger the game's anti-cheat system and put a mark on your account—a system that only exists in a single-player idle game thanks to the marketplace trading.

Dutch non-profit set to take Valve to court for keeping game prices high
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/dutch-non-profit-set-to-take-valve-to-court-for-keeping-game-prices-high/
If you were to make a list of every concept you associate with Steam—even if you had hours, days, weeks to come up with it—chances are 'high prices' wouldn't make a showing. Quite the opposite: if you're anything like me, you associate Steam with swingeing sales that let you pick up vast troves of games (that you never play) for pennies.
But high prices are nevertheless at the centre of a new campaign by the Netherlands' Consumer Competition Claims Foundation, a Dutch non-profit organisation that says its aim is to "protect consumers against unfair commercial practices, including breaches of competition law, breaches of consumer law and other unlawful conduct."
The CCCF is inviting Dutch signups to "Game Claim", its campaign against Valve that aims first to "sit down with Valve" and then, when that inevitably yields nothing (my editorialising, not theirs), to take the whole damn company to court. Valve, claims the non-profit, is artificially inflating game prices across all PC storefronts with its 30% commission on Steam sales (for the sake of accuracy, it's actually a little more granular: Valve's cut drops to 25% after a game's first $10 million in revenue and 20% after $50 million, which is still a lot!)

Unofficial PC Version for GoldenEye 007 Remaster Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/unofficial-pc-version-for-goldeneye-007-remaster-released/
In January 2026, I informed you about an unofficial PC version of the canceled remaster of GoldenEye 007 that was in development. And today, I’m happy to report that this PC version is now out, allowing you to play that canceled James Bond game on PC.
For those who did not know, back in 2008, Nintendo, Activision, and Microsoft agreed to remaster the classic Nintendo 64 game, Goldeneye 007, for Xbox 360. Activision was planning to release the game via XBLA. However, at the last minute, the publisher decided to cancel it.
Going into more details, GoldenEye 007 — PC Recompilation comes with support for smooth, stable 60FPS. The team has recompiled and fixed its GPU-pacing that could occur with the original’s frame timing.
This PC version also comes with online multiplayer support. PC gamers can host or join matches over the internet. You can play MP via LAN, Hamachi, playit.gg, or a public server.
There is also controller support, though I don’t know whether there is any support for keyboard and mouse. We also get an in-game settings menu that will let you set your video display, resolution, frame limit, fullscreen, and online setup. You can access this menu with the ESC key. You will also find a few Post-FX filters for brightness, contrast, saturation, and vignette.
As with pretty much all recompilations, GoldenEye 007 — PC Recompilation does not include any in-game assets. This means that you will need the X360 XBLA ROM file. This may be tricky, as this game was never released to the public. So, it might be a bit hard to find the correct ROM file.

Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced RealityV 3.2 Graphics Mod Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/grand-theft-auto-5-enhanced-realityv-3-2-graphics-mod-released/
Modder ‘BadassBaboon’ has released Version 3.2 of his amazing graphics overhaul mod for GTA 5 Enhanced Edition, RealityV. This is one of the best graphics mods for Grand Theft Auto 5. So, let’s see what this new version brings to the table.
GTA 5 RealityV 3.2 improves the game’s performance. Compared to the previous version, this new one can run up to 10FPS faster. This should please those who wanted to play the game with this mod but couldn’t due to its high PC requirements.
Version 3.2 adds snow, snowlight, and blizzard timecycles based on Mafia 2’s early snowy chapters. It also adds a new night-time sky system. Stars can now blink, jitter, or fade out, and you may see some shooting stars. We also get a parallax factor for the Milky Way.
Furthermore, this new version adds raindrops to vehicles. The modder has used a Fresnel-based approach to simulate transparency in the center and reflectivity on the edges of the raindrops. Droplets can merge with each other as they flow down, and the speed and density of the raindrops will depend on the weather.
And that’s not all. GTA 5 RealityV 3.2 also improves the look of siren lights. The update enhances tonemapping, fixes washed-out visuals, and adjusts daytime exposure to provide more natural lighting. It also fixes screen noise issues that could appear during Overcast weather.
All in all, this is one of the coolest mods for GTA 5 Enhanced Edition. It’s also free to download. So, if you are interested in it, you can download it from here.

Demo 3 for Sonic Adventure 2 Fan Remake in Unreal Engine 5 Released
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/demo-3-for-sonic-adventure-2-fan-remake-in-unreal-engine-5-released/
JeliLiam has released the third demo for his amazing fan remake of Sonic Adventure 2 in Unreal Engine 5, Sonic Adventure 2 Redux. So, if you are a fan of the blue hedgehog, you should immediately download and play it.
For those unaware, Sonic Adventure 2 Redux is a ground-up reimagining of the 2001 classic Sonic game in UE5. The remake takes advantage of the Azure Framework to overhaul the game’s physics. Moreover, players can expect tweaks and QoL improvements to the camera, controls, and UI.
Players can take advantage of the terrain by building momentum to reach incredible speeds. They will be able to bounce off platforms to reach higher ground with the bounce bracelet. They will also be able to send themselves flying using the iconic spindash.
Demo 3 includes three levels and two new battles. The new levels are the Pyramid Cave, Sky Rail, and Pumpkin Hill. The two battles are against Egg Golem and Hot Shot. The demo also has new animatic-style cutscenes before and after select stages. Plus, it comes with numerous general improvements.
This is one of the best fan remakes of an old game in UE5. To be honest, this feels exactly what you’d expect from a modern-day remake of Sonic Adventure 2. So, make sure to download its latest demo from this link.

The Witcher 3 Online Version 3.0 Released & Detailed
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/the-witcher-3-online-version-3-0-released-detailed/
Modder ‘rejuvenate’ has released Version 3.0 for the amazing multiplayer online mod for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Witcher Online. So, let’s see what this new update brings to the table.
For those who did not know, Witcher Online is a mod that adds multiplayer to The Witcher 3. With this mod, players can join servers and play together with friends. You can customize your character with Custom Player Characters and relax in taverns using the Chill Out feature. You can also chat with other players, use emotes, and roleplay with strangers. Best of all, you can experience the full story of Geralt and Ciri from beginning to end, all while exploring the world of The Witcher with other players.
Each player will be able to see their equipped armor, swords, crossbow, scabbards, hairstyle, and face mark. There is also full movement and combat sync. Players can swim, ride horses, and fight enemies with their friends.
The biggest feature of Version 3.0 is the support for Gwen. The mod now offers full match sync, allowing players to use their own decks and cards they’ve collected in their playthrough in the match. Players can use the player menu to send a request to another player or the duel (“username”) console command.
Alongside the Gwen support, Version 3.0 fixes a collision bug when sitting on some chairs in taverns with Chill Out. It also brings overall stability improvements.
Those interested can download Witcher Online V3.0 from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a trailer for it.
You Can Now Play Forza Horizon 6 in VR With Full 6DOF Support
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/you-can-now-play-forza-horizon-6-in-vr-with-full-6dof-support/
Modder ‘NALULUNA’ has released a very cool mod for Forza Horizon 6 that allows you to play in VR mode. This is a mod that will please all Forza fans who currently own a VR headset. So, if you are one of them, you should definitely try this mod.
Going into more details, this VR Mod makes the Forza Horizon 6 driver view VR compatible, and it comes with full 6DOF support. This means there is support for head/neck rotation, tilt, and movement.
The Mod lets you specify resolutions not present on the connected monitor. It also lets you specify an FOV beyond the in-game limit. Additionally, it can synchronize the game’s frame rate with the HMD’s. Furthermore, when entering a non-driver-view state, such as the menu screen, it disables 3D, cancels HMD rotation, and adjusts scale.
Forza Horizon 6 was never meant to be played in VR. So, expect some bugs and glitches here and there. In other words, this isn’t a perfect VR mode. Still, it’s better than nothing.
You can go ahead and download the mod from this link.
To install it, you’ll have to extract the zip file anywhere you like. Launch `fh6vr.exe` and press the “Launch” button at the bottom of the screen to start Forza Horizon 6. Once the game starts and you are in a car, press **Tab** a few times to switch to the cockpit view. This view is what gets displayed in VR. All the other camera modes, like the one behind the car, are not supported.

You can download Planescape: Torment's unofficial DLC mod right now
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/you-can-download-planescape-torments-unofficial-dlc-mod-right-now/
Last year we were extremely stoked to learn about the development of Blizzard in Baator, a fan project to expand our beloved CRPG fave Planescape: Torment with new story, cinematics, music, characters (including a couple of recruitable companions), and locations (including the Frozen Wastes of Cania) It's finally here, with act one available now.
As the charmingly lo-fi video announcement explains, Blizzard in Baator is big. "Significantly bigger than Siege of Dragonspear," they say, and so it will be released in multiple separate parts. It's an ambitious mod. "We are trying to follow in the footsteps of the greatest RPG of all time," they say.
While Blizzard in Baator is available at Nexus Mods, it's recommended that you download it from Github instead, as it's an easier install. The new quests are balanced for a Nameless One who is about level 16, so you can either load an old save and play from there or start a new game and visit Zombie #000 in the Mortuary to get leveled-up and prepared to dive straight in.
