kill Joel off early. A lot of people hated it but imo, it helped make the world feel more threatening and helped compel Ellie to action. It's other writing decisions that bothered me: among them, Ellie not killing Abby off in the end after all the effort she put in to get to Abby?
I can't buy that. The least ND could have done is leave the decision to kill Abby up to the player. That would have been the best decision imo: would be interesting to see the statistics of how many spared Abby vs killed Abby.
