And you're worried about jobs?  Do you protest robotics taking jobs away from blue collar workers?  Do you boycott the automotive industry or other industries that have steadily replaced people with robotics?  Why don't I ever see writers, artists, or tech people talking about that?  Oh, I know--because they didn't give a fuck until it affected them.

Remember what I said before when you complained about AI image generation?  "Learn to code".  That's what people online told factory workers when they were losing their jobs by the thousands.  They were told to adapt.  So, there you go.

I don't give a damn if you like AI or not but no one respects a fanatic who is also a hypocrite.

AI data centers and regular data centers are not the same. We had regular data centers in 2012. Not to mention that regular data centers are not needed to play single-player games. Also, the impact that individual consumers have on the environment is negligible. Of course they're not the same but they're damn sure worse than if they didn't exist.  No one with a brain can dispute that.  Simply being a gamer means using far more electricity and rare earth minerals than not being a gamer--so why aren't they protesting gaming companies? 

I mean, you DO understand that giant corporations only answer demand, right?  Suggesting that individual consumers have no impact so they can just do whatever they want is one way to look at it, I suppose, but it seems like a massive cop-out.

My point is that the line in the sand will ALWAYS be just beyond what is convenient and this "moral high ground" is so they can pat themselves on the back while still consuming as much as they want.
