Just realized that Nimue and her expertise at weapon crafting was mentioned in Raganork. I dont realize this when crafting this theory so it came as a surprise to me that my theory may be correct and the sword is almost certainly Excalibur and Rue is almost certainly Nimue. Regarding Frank, sometimes the most obvious clues are the ones that people ignore and when he leans over to give Fey the Sword you can clearly see that he looks like a body of water, ripples and all. Folks... he is a cosmic cube of magical water.
Regarding the afterlife, it was heavily hinted at by Odin himself and his actions can be understood to be in an attempt to reach it to gather knowledge without actually dying.
What I don't understand is why Sekhmet would destroy the mask Fragment if she is also dead, unless she already had a way out. And yes I am certain she is dead. I assume Ra and the others killed her to stop her from destorying mankind.
But yeah I wonder if and where Authur will show up at some point... maybe at the end of the game when Fey returns the sword.
