Well, I hope you’re ready because here starts the third gaming news post, the first from PCGamer:
Everything announced at Summer Game Fest 2026
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/live/news/summer-game-fest-2026-live-all-the-announcements-as-they-happen/
The fated day arrives: Summer Game Fest is back, back again, with one world premiere after another to give 2026 a double-barrel of new games.
Here's a roundup of everything announced during the stream (with the exception of a few ads and small trailers for games we already knew about.)
>> This and the next articles may save you time.
Everything announced at Xbox Games Showcase 2026
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/live/news/xbox-games-showcase-live-coverage-every-reveal-as-it-happens/
2026 marks the 25th anniversary of Xbox—but in a shaky set of years for gaming at Microsoft, this one has been among the shakiest. Old CEOs are out, new leadership is in, and we've all been left wondering how Xbox might try to steady its prolonged tailspin. This summer's Xbox Games Showcase was our first real look at what tack Microsoft's gaming division is going to take—aside from its capitalization standards, anyway.
As you'll read below, however, Xbox's immediate future is mostly concerned with the past. There were a handful of new reveals, but the showcase largely focused on release dates for remasters, prequels, and remakes.
Every game, trailer, and announcement in the PC Gaming Show 2026
https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/events-conferences/every-game-trailer-and-announcement-in-the-pc-gaming-show-2026/
The PC Gaming Show 2026 has wrapped up, and it was a corker. Over 60 games, more than 20 world premieres, and some fantastic interviews and behind the scenes sneak peeks. What was your favourite moment? I can't answer that because it would be like picking a favourite child, but you can let us know down in the comments.
If you couldn't keep up with the slew of games or you just want a handy recap of everything we saw in one place, then this is the article for you. Read on to see every single thing in the show in the order it appeared. You can also see every game on our Steam page.
Bandai Namco is pitting Gundams against kaiju in 2027
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/bandai-namco-is-pitting-gundams-against-kaiju-in-2027/
I've got a serious case of Gundam disease. It's bad enough that I willingly spend my time playing Gundam: Battle Operation 2—a game that most of the world rightfully thinks is irredeemable. I'm starved enough for new Gundam stuff to play, that at this point I'll take whatever Bandai Namco is willing to put in front of me.
I didn't expect "whatever" to entail Gundams battling giant monsters, however, but I'm willing to be proven wrong. At tonight's Summer Game Fest, Bandai Namco revealed Gundam Rogue Orbit, an action game where mobile suits are fighting a meatier class of enemy than they usually face.
N Plus Infinity Times Two is a multiplayer-focused follow-up to one of the best platformers on PC: 'we don't think anyone else on this planet is as crazy about 2D platformers as we are'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/n-plus-infinity-times-two-is-a-multiplayer-focused-follow-up-to-one-of-the-best-platformers-on-pc-we-dont-think-anyone-else-on-this-planet-is-as-crazy-about-2d-platformers-as-we-are/
More than a decade after the release of one of the best action platformers ever made, N Plus Infinity Times Two is the next ninja parkour movement sim from Canada's Metanet Software.
Believe or not, this co-op and PvP zombie shooter is 'inspired by true events'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/believe-or-not-this-co-op-and-pvp-zombie-shooter-is-inspired-by-true-events/
As a fan of fishing in games, my ears perked up at the sound of a rod and reel during Summer Games Fest. It was the trailer for Last Harbor, where the fishing quickly turned from a peaceful pastime to a struggle for survival.
That's because this isn't just a fishing game, it's a co-op and PvP zombie shooter, and to make things even more interesting: according to developer and publisher tinyBuild, it's based on a true story.
I really want to know what the cube is all about in Haex
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/survival-crafting/i-really-want-to-know-what-the-cube-is-all-about-in-haex/
One of the most puzzling trailers from today's Summer Game Fest was the one for Haex, the debut game from developer Dead Astronauts. It opens with some pretty normal-looking guns pointed at some pretty normal-looking sci-fi monsters, but my mind keeps coming back to that cube. That damn cube.
An 8-bit Cuphead game is being programmed in assembly language for the Sega Master System
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/an-8-bit-cuphead-game-is-being-programmed-in-assembly-language-for-the-sega-master-system/
At today's Summer Game Fest showcase, we learned that a pair of new Cuphead games are in development. One is a "hand-animated" successor to the original 2017 sidescroller, which emulates golden age cartoons. The other is retro in a different way: "an 8-bit action platformer named Mighty Cuphead Adventure."
Left 4 Dead meets friendslop as you and your pals try to escape 'the galaxy's most-unregulated waterpark'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/left-4-dead-meets-friendslop-as-you-and-your-pals-try-to-escape-the-galaxys-most-unregulated-waterpark/
Visit a waterpark and you've gotta assume someone has peed in the pool. Lots of someones, actually. Soaking in anonymous wee is just the price you pay for an afternoon of waterslides and river rafting.
But at Water Station One, billed as "the galaxy's most unregulated waterpark," a little bit of pee had some major consequences.
Spellsided is a strategy RPG where you play a hyper-customisable dice, and your challenges are 'a puzzle of your own design'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/spellsided-is-a-strategy-rpg-where-you-play-a-hyper-customisable-dice-and-your-challenges-are-a-puzzle-of-your-own-design/
You know what? We neglect the humble six-sided die. Dungeons and Dragons has worked its way into our heads so much that, at this point, when I think of a die I picture a D20. A moment of silence, please, for the neglected cubes my child self used to play Mouse Trap with.
Or maybe not, because the D6 is back, baby. Specifically, it's back in Spellsided, the upcoming "dice-builder" strategy RPG that just showed itself off at the PC Gaming Show. You're a D6, each of your sides holds customisable spells, and it's on you to roll your way about the world in a manner that deploys the right spell(s) at the right moment.
Boldly go where no gamer has gone before in a new Star Trek colony builder that just dropped a demo
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/city-builder/boldly-go-where-no-gamer-has-gone-before-in-a-new-star-trek-colony-builder-that-just-dropped-a-demo/
Space: the final frontier. I often dream what it would be like to leave this rock behind and go out into that infinite expanse. I'd probably die a horrific death because just about anything can and will go wrong in outer space, and I have basically no technical skills that would help me survive in a spaceship.
Fortunately, I can live out my fantasy from the safety of my living room thanks to videogames.
Star Trek: Outposts Unknown was just revealed in a PC Gaming Show world premiere, and it ticks a lot of boxes. Fans of the stories told during the escapades of the USS Enterprise will be delighted to learn this is a narrative-driven affair, not just a sandbox.
Return to the golden age of computing and take down evil corporations in Hack '95, which has a demo you can play now
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/return-to-the-golden-age-of-computing-and-take-down-evil-corporations-in-hack-95-which-has-a-demo-you-can-play-now/
A couple of years ago, I went to a PR's office to demo a battle royale game that looked like RuneScape and played like Magic: the Gathering—Inferni: Hope & Fear. I had an absolute blast, but I didn't hear anything more about the game. Now, it's been reborn. Hack '95 takes the bones of Inferni's real-time combat and drapes a Windows 95 skin over the muscle and sinew of a story about hacking an evil corporation.
Company of Heroes is back, and so is my urge to ruin friendships
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rts/company-of-heroes-is-back-and-so-is-my-urge-to-ruin-friendships/
Back in 2006, Relic's World War 2 strategy game Company of Heroes picked up the entire RTS genre and shook it. At the PC Gaming Show just now, Relic announced Company of Heroes: Definitive Edition, and I couldn't be more excited about another opportunity to hop into the trenches.
A sexy vampire game set in Cold War Berlin, what more do I need to say?
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/a-sexy-vampire-game-set-in-cold-war-berlin-what-more-do-i-need-to-say/
We here at the PC Gaming Show know what you sickos want, because we're sickos ourselves. Or maybe it's just me, maybe that's why I was hired, who knows? Anyway, we just debuted the world premiere of Red Kiss, a sexy, stylish vampire RPG set in Berlin, 1989. It's from developer Wispfire and publisher Fellow Traveller, which put out Citizen Sleeper, and the game clearly takes some cues from the sci-fi game.
Serious Sam: Shatterverse brings together 25 years of Sam in an absurd bloodsoaked roguelite
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/roguelike/serious-sam-shatterverse-brings-together-25-years-of-sam-in-an-absurd-bloodsoaked-roguelite/
I've got a big soft spot for Serious Sam. Back in the day, a young Josh really marvelled at that one bit—you know the one—where what-felt-like-a-million Beheaded Kamikazes pour over the sand dunes and begin charging directly at your position. It was probably the first game I played that made fun of games, that mucked about with familiar tropes to create something that felt like a long piece of affectionate mockery.
All this to say I am glad Sam is still here and still Serious, and we just got a glimpse of his latest adventure—Serious Sam: Shatterverse—at the PC Gaming Show. This is Behaviour Digital's co-op roguelite take on the Sam Saga. Samga. Anyway, the point is you'll be charging into runs over and over, creating different builds through modifiers, and generally dying a fair bit until you crack 'em. You know, a roguelite.
Amid all the guts and gore of this year's Xbox Showcase the most pleasant surprise was the Ghibli-style life sim Vivarium
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/life-sim/amid-all-the-guts-and-gore-of-this-years-xbox-showcase-the-most-pleasant-surprise-was-the-ghibli-style-life-sim-vivarium/
Today's Xbox Showcase just wrapped up, and amid all the blood, guts, and wackiness the standout trailer for me had to be the calming life sim, Vivarium.
It's not that I don't like my fair share of gore—State of Decay 3 and Metro 2039's new trailers both looked fantastic, and I can't wait to play them, but a Ghibli-styled cosy life sim? Hell yeah, that's what I get out of bed for.
Sated is a grimy cooking roguelike about preparing meals for biblically accurate horrors beyond knowing, and I'm signed up already
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/sated-is-a-grimy-cooking-roguelike-about-preparing-meals-for-biblically-accurate-horrors-beyond-knowing-and-im-signed-up-already/
I'll level with you pals: I'm already incredibly into everything Sated—which just got a world premiere at the PC Gaming Show—is doing. It bills itself as "a grimy, hypnotic rogue-like where you descend into a dripping megastructure to cook increasingly grotesque delicacies for an ever-hungrier monster." Well, that's all I need to hear. Sign me up.
The thing is: you are a cursed chef on a moving tram that keeps stopping at new monsters with new, dreadful culinary demands, "From angelic horrors begging for battery soup to submarine sharks craving marine delicacies," per the press release.
Get ready to rampage in this Hitman-like '90s sandbox revenge game
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/get-ready-to-rampage-in-this-hitman-like-90s-sandbox-revenge-game/
I may not have been born in the '80s, but its aesthetic has endured so well I can both instantly recognise it and feel right at home. Deep, bold colours, wild hair, and camp, schlocky horror are all staples of the decade that I adore, even though I'm bald now. Upcoming revenge sandbox Gone Feral trades the hairdos for animal masks and pops you right into an old-school straight-to-VHS B-movie.
Another Door is here to ruin your friendships with lies, treachery, and gambling
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/roguelike/another-door-is-here-to-ruin-your-friendships-with-lies-treachery-and-gambling/
Videogames are all about choice. But does that mean your decisions should be seen by everyone? What if your choice is to screw over your "friend"? What then? Another Door dares to ask, and answer, that question.
In a world premiere trailer at the PC Gaming Show, we just saw the spooky roguelike in action. The way it works is this: You and your buddies are presented with a series of choices. One example in the trailer has you pick between two cards—take 15 damage, or, if multiple people pick the other card, take 75 damage.
Cassette Beasts 2002 is a GBA-style monster collection game where you can splice critters together with the power of music
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/cassette-beasts-2002-is-a-gba-style-monster-collection-game-where-you-can-splice-critters-together-with-the-power-of-music/
I've always been a little sad that the GBA-era style of RPGs—where you had those cute 2.5D pixel graphics—never caught on. Mostly because I think it looked pretty good, tying together graphical limitations at the time with the advent of better handheld tech. Well, Cassette Beasts has kept that tradition alive and well. First with the original game back in 2023, and now with Cassette Beasts 2002.
My favourite card-battling action brawler just got a sequel, and you can play it right now
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/my-favourite-card-battling-action-brawler-just-got-a-sequel-and-you-can-play-it-right-now/
We love a good shadowdrop at the PC Gaming Show, so to be able to drop a sequel to one of my favourites is a real delight. Today we're here to tell you that not only does the ridiculously named 2 Fights 2 Tight Spaces exist, but you can get it in Early Access right now if you so desire.
Samantha Béart and Ben Starr headline a new Stronghold game coming to Steam later this year
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/sim/samantha-beart-and-ben-starr-headline-a-new-stronghold-game-coming-to-steam-later-this-year/
Stronghold 4 was revealed to the world at the PC Gaming Show today, which despite the title is actually the 10th game in the long-running series of games where you design medieval castles, build them up, and then smash 'em down—the castles that belong to your sworn enemies, anyway.
Wardens of Avalon is knightly ARPG with an intriguing touch of… wait, city repair?
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/wardens-of-avalon-is-knightly-arpg-with-an-intriguing-touch-of-wait-city-repair/
You know what I need? You know what would really spruce up the humdrum decor I've currently got in this dusty old flat of mine? A goblet of blood. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. You don't see many goblets about these days, even fewer filled with blood, and I think if I could whip one out during my many soirees, why, I'd be the talk of the town.
Which town? Avalon, of course, which we just saw a glimpse of during Wardens of Avalon's world premiere PC Gaming Show trailer. It looks a bit like if Diablo—in among all the monster slaying—also tasked you with restoring the ruins of Tristram. Which it turns out is something I've been waiting for my whole life.
Maximum Thunderness is a roguelike shoot-em-up that promises the same vibe 'of a Saturday morning cartoon'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/roguelike/maximum-thunderness-is-a-roguelike-shoot-em-up-that-promises-the-same-vibe-of-a-saturday-morning-cartoon/
We just got our first look at Maximum Thunderness during today's PC Gaming Show, and this shoot-em-up roguelike looks just as chaotic as it sounds—with giant green goop aliens, tanks, and more explosions than a Michael Bay film.
Time Strike is a soothing balm in an age of twitch shooters and fast reflexes
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/time-strike-is-a-soothing-balm-in-an-age-of-twitch-shooters-and-fast-reflexes/
I don't know about you, but playing FPS games makes me feel old. I'm way past my prime, my twitch reflexes are shot, which in turn leads to me getting shot. How I wish I could simply stop time to reposition or line up a headshot. Maybe grab an enemy's missile and redirect it back at them. Even teleport behind them. Then I'd finally have my old edge back.
Hang on a minute. I've just watched the reveal trailer for Time Strike at the PC Gaming Show, and it has all of those things, I'm saved!
Citizen Sleeper dev's next game looks nothing like it, and that's what makes me so excited
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/citizen-sleeper-devs-next-game-looks-nothing-like-it-and-thats-what-makes-me-so-excited/
From the creator of Citizen Sleeper comes something completely different. Gosh, isn't that refreshing? From developer Jump Over the Age, led by Gareth Damian Martin, and publisher Fellow Traveller comes Signet City. It's a dark, moody RPG set in what looks like a mega-fungus infected British city.
I'll fix the vampire game article later. Fixed. And I've also addd the PC Gaming Show recap article.
