I dont think its a bad idea, I think it is them telling the story they want to tell which isn't the preservation of a mystery as thats never what they intended. And there are questions that you ask that can't only be revealed in the full game. Remember, God of War has never been beholden to cannon representations of Myth... since the start of the series. This current story was set in motion at the start of the 2018 game. And the story of a God afterlife outside of where mortals go existed since GoW 3.
Either way I rather just say the story is what it is. I'm really excited to see how it unfold and im very interested to see any other fan theories.
