I have a theory about the new God of War game regarding the sword, the ribbon (Rue) and the cube (Frank/Phranque).
This is completely baseless as its just and idea but what if the Sword is Excalibur while Rue is the Lady of the Lake (Nimue) and Frank is a fragment of the lake. I think the name Frank (spelled Phranque in the game) can just be an inside joke playing of of the name of R&B/Pop signer Frank Ocean where Ocean is a reference to the lake itself.
The way Fey pulls the Sword from Phranque seems to be an illusion to pulling the sword from the stone. The lake itself being a source of limitless magic and thus a cube or piece of it can very well be sentient.
According to a quick google gemini discrpiption:
The Lady of the Lake is a mystical figure in Arthurian legend. She grants King Arthur the magical sword Excalibur and later reclaims it after his death.
So the cube with the sword in it is possibliy a portion of the lake that holds exclibur. In the trailer, Phranque says that Rue has to give (or grant) the sword to Fey. Well, only Nimue can do that so that would make Rue the Lady and Phranque the Lake.
Any thoughts?
