Duke Nukem 3D Path Tracing Mod Gets Full Voxel Support
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/duke-nukem-3d-path-tracing-mod-gets-full-voxel-support/
And the time has finally come. Modder ‘postmemetic’ has released a new update for his incredible Path Tracing Mod for Duke Nukem 3D that adds support for voxels. This is what I’ve been waiting for to dive in, and I’m glad the modder has added it.
Going into more details, Version 0.2.4 also remasters Episode 2. Not only that, but it brings a big performance overhaul pass to reduce CPU times on large levels with lots of geometry churn (E1L4, E2L8). According to the modder, frametimes have been reduced by up to 80% in some cases.
Version 0.2.4 also comes with a better install and launch experience. It has better Duke3d.grp discovery and a voxel download helper. Plus, it fixes a couple of bugs that were present in the previous version. For instance, it fixes a renderer bug that could cause visual jitter and egregious RELAX denoiser blurring. It also comes with a fix for rockets and enemies disappearing during flight, like in the big arena of map E2L8.
As I said, the main feature of this version, at least in my opinion, is the voxel support. This will give the game a more 3D-ish look. Furthermore, the voxels retain the art style of the original 2D sprites. These voxels are ideal for those who want to re-experience DN3D with Path Tracing. So, don’t sleep on them.
You can go ahead and download the mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a trailer for it. This trailer has the new voxels that replace all of the game’s 2D sprites. So, make sure to watch it as it can give you an idea of what you can expect from it.

Yet another rad gaming tool parts ways with Microsoft
https://www.pcgamer.com/software/yet-another-rad-gaming-tool-parts-ways-with-microsoft/
As anyone who's endured hearing me talk about Linux (which is cool) will know, one of my favourite things about the sunlit uplands of free and open-source (FOSS) software is Luxtorpeda, a compatibility tool that will automatically download and install open-source engine reimplementations—and other mods—for supported games you run with it. For instance, fire up a copy of Morrowind on Linux using Luxtorpeda, and it'll have OpenMW up and running for you in a jiffy.
Well, Luxtorpeda is moving home. It's become the latest in a line of projects to grow so weary of Microsoft's antics over at GitHub that it's picking up sticks. In a post on the Luxtorpeda website, dev d10sfan wrote, "The luxtorpeda project has completed a migration to codeberg! This is mainly from the latest issues with github, from stability, AI, and where they are putting their focus".
GitHub has been a mecca of open-source development for a very long time, and even Microsoft acquiring it in 2018 didn't shake loose most of its devs despite some controversy. But the site has recently come under fire, on the one hand because Microsoft simply cannot keep its AI tendrils to itself—training its LLMs on data hosted on the site and constantly badgering devs to use Copilot—and because it also can't seem to keep GitHub running consistently of late.

Congratulations to the Paralives community for immediately making its most popular mod something called 'Parapenis'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/life-sim/congratulations-to-the-paralives-community-for-immediately-making-its-most-popular-mod-something-called-parapenis/
The last time I was a regular Sims player was, well, in the era of The Sims. The first one. Since those ancient days, it's my understanding that the series—or at least The Sims 4—has turned into a platform for some of the most exotic and enthusiastic sexual experimentation mankind has yet produced, largely thanks to its mega-popular Wicked Whims mod.
So I should not be surprised, but maybe lightly scandalised, that the Paralives community has quickly made a whole medley of NSFW mods for the game, then promptly made those mods the most popular among players (spotted by TheGamer).
After releasing in early access just a week ago, Paralives' most-popular mods over on Nexus are already, well, just what you expect. The big swinging champ at the moment—the most popular mod of all—is called (I cannot advise strongly enough against clicking this in public or at work) "Parapenis", if you require some sign of where things are at.
Parapenis, which I have now viewed in my work browser, boldly declares that "Freeballing is for everyone" and gives your masculine Parapeople… exactly what you'd expect. Exactly what you'd expect comes in three sizes, ranging from large to small. For a wishful definition of small. Doesn't seem that small to… a friend of mine. Who I asked about it. Ahem.
That is only one of a suite of freethinking modifications. There's also multiple de-censor mods, genital and buttock sliders (that was the name of my band in university), adult toys, more pubic hair mods than you'd anticipate, and, of course, the Parapenis companion mod: Parapussy.
Some days I write about multi-billion dollar corporate acquisitions. Other days it's Parapussy.
