Tom Henderson has confirmed that Marathon is nowhere near breaking even. Coupled with Destiny 2's last update and player numbers plummeting, it's no wonder the studio's upcoming layoffs have been considered to be "significant."
He doesn't specify if the costs are purely for development costs only leading up to launch, or if they also include continued development costs throughout seasons 1 and 2. Either way, with player numbers and sales plummeting (PC is the leading platform, but is only at #226 on Steam Best Sellers, which includes revenue so can't imagine how bad it's looking on console), this FTP week is gonna have to make a splash with all the incredible changes that are coming to the game!
