Eventually might be too late for civilization to survive. Civilization collapse is nothing new and we're not immune with our limited technology and maximum hubris. The hope is nuclear fusion can later provide clean and limitless energy, but the cost effect ratio for a full power plant is still unknown next to when it could be ready to scale up. You would think more money and resources would be invested in Nuclear fusion research yet compared to money invested in military destruction and data centers it's nothing.

The environmentalists won't be throwing any parties as climate change is becoming more damaging every further year we fail to curb it and only make it worse with wars and data centers. Oil isn't running out anytime soon, plus bio-ethanol is prolonging the reliance on oil while putting more strain on the food supply. The world running out of fresh water will happen sooner. Many current wars already involve disputes over water sources.

The idea that a thriving economy will solve all problems is a fallacy. The thriving economy got us to this crisis point, yet people continue to stick their head in the sand and now bet on AI to come to the rescue. Literally a ultra high stakes bet, no guarantees, no solution, just keep investing, keep building more data centers and maybe something good will come out of all the short term destruction. The end justifies the means... Except the end goal for those behind the data centers is not at all aligned with the majority needs of the world population.

Then I was right and AI is going to destroy us all. Thanks for nothing, Altman. I hope Altman and those other rich AI slobs die for dooming the world.

And everyone here who advocates for AI, I hope you're happy with speeding up our extinction.

I still think that humans running out of fossil fuels will reduce our tech to much lower levels than it stands as of now. What will happen when gasoline becomes super expensive? Well move to ev batteries? And when those metals become super expensive and people don’t want to buy ev cars anymore? Humanity is at or close to its peak right now.

Am I a doomed? lol
