The Destiny 3 situation was kind of obvious, no? The only rumor/report about it came late last year and even if they were working in destiny 3 since last year we would be talking about preproduction, that step only needs a small team and can take years specially whit how Destiny 2 relationship with people ended. They could start to work on Destiny 3 next month and still need activities for most employees to do for one or two years before joining D3 development.

Yeah they don’t have anything at the moment. Jason goes further to say that Bungie employees are currently just throwing ideas as to what make next, including in the Destiny franchise, but nothing has been decided.

And it’s not like they’re going to be moved to Marathon if they’re gonna be doing “significant” layoffs here soon. I guess a smaller project at best at this rate.

A smaller project maybe is for the best tho.

If it was on me I would use Destiny 2 assets to build stand alone single player games. I would also reuse Marathon assets to remake the original trilogy, it wouldn't only be "cheap" it would also be a marketing tool for Marathon the service.

Obviously it's not why Sony acquired them for but with the upcoming services (starting with the reception to the re-reveal of fairgames) they will have to accept that the chase is over.
