I wouldn't call me a fan of the series, but I have to admit that I enjoyed the new games. And, just like Kingdom Come and Metro, there are two Tomb Raider games coming: a remake/re-imagining of the first game and a new one set after the reboot games: https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/tomb-raider-comes-to-the-game-awards-with-not-just-one-but-two-new-games-a-re-imagining-and-an-all-new-adventure/ Although those games were supposed to be published by Amazon, before they decided to back away from gaming. I don't know how's the situation about these games right now. |
TR is one of my all time favourite gaming IPs...well, until Reboot. That one is superb cover shooter, but has very little to do with actual TR. As for those new ones - first one already has remake in Anniversary, which is pretty good (I still prefer original), but if there's a demo I'll give them a go, though I'm not holding my breath, since one look at new Lara is giving me bad vibes about it.
But yeah, though I think TR needs another reboot to get it back on track, maybe those two games move the needle for Embracer. Personally, I'm not seeing it, everything around TR kinda sucks these days - I mean, Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, and Phoebe Waller-Bridgeas as writer and showrunner...yeah, sod off Amazon.
