I never even heard of Ball X Pit. I can tell you one of the best twin stick games I ever played and is a pure thrill is Nex Machina from Housemarque. Eugene Jarvis consulted on it. You only get to fight the final boss if legit good at the game. A lot of enemies come at you at once while at the same time you need to save a set amount of humans. Secrets to unlock in the stages (like bonus levels or extra humans/weapons)  You do get temp buffs. Temp upgrades.One of my fave PS4 games also on PS5.

Edit. I looked at a couple screenshots of Ball X Pit. Just looks like Araknoid. Old arcade game. So you can try that. There is a million versions of it.
