Surprise: The studio making Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is full of former BioWare devs

At The Game Awards 2025, LucasFilm Games revealed Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, an upcoming "spiritual successor" to BioWare's beloved Knights of the Old Republic series. Returning to head up its development is Casey Hudson, project director on KotOR 1 and the Mass Effect series, former BioWare general manager, and now co-founder, CEO, and game director at Fate of the Old Republic developer Arcanaut Studios.
Hudson's history with the series gives the project a noteworthy pedigree, but it wasn't until this week that we had a better sense of who else is handling the return to the Old Republic era. Thanks to a fresh update to its studio page, we now know more about Arcanaut's development leadership. And hey, turns out it's a bunch of other former BioWare folks. Who would've guessed?
'The team has weathered a lot': Subnautica 2 design lead says the community kept the dev team going 'when it was at its hardest'

Considering the months of turmoil surrounding the development of Subnautica 2, it's not just exciting that the undersea survival game is finally launching into early access next week on May 14—it's a minor miracle.
But while the legal battle between publisher Krafton and the founders of developer Unknown Worlds was incredibly loud and extremely public, we haven't heard anything from the people actually making the sequel amidst all that courtroom drama.
Ubisoft says 'Nice try' after Assassin's Creed multiplayer game, Invictus, leaks with a 'heavily altered' image
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/assassins-creed/ubisoft-says-nice-try-after-assassins-creed-multiplayer-game-invictus-leaks-with-a-heavily-altered-image/
Ubisoft suck at keeping a secret. It's long had a problem with leaks, and the Assassin's Creed series has probably suffered more from that than its other series. Even Ubisoft has joked about Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced being "gaming's worst kept secret" following leak after leak. Much like the Age of Piracy in Black Flag, Ubisoft's age of leaks isn't over either.
Just yesterday, YouTuber xJ0nathan posted on X a supposed screenshot of Assassin's Creed's (codenamed) Invictus, a dedicated multiplayer spinoff. Honestly, there's not even much in the image to go off, just a character holding two weapons in an untextured liminal space. It's kinda exactly what you'd expect from a very, very early look at an Assassin's Creed game.
IO boss says surprise! Not only is 007 First Light imminent but that fantasy RPG it announced years ago is 'Very, very far' along too

You know, amid the steady stream of murderable celebs in Hitman: World of Assassination and the hoopla around 007 First Light's imminent release, I forgot that IO has another iron in the fire—the online fantasy RPG it announced in 2023 (and which I apparently wrote the news article for. The past is a foreign country).
But it's been boiling away somewhere in Denmark (and/or IO's various other studios) all this time, and per IO CEO (Ee Eye Ee Eye Oh) Hakan Abrak in a recent chat with The Game Business, it's actually near to full-cooked.
Please excuse my bad English.
