Yeah, this wreaks of “internet is OUTRAGED over seemingly nothing.” The DRM check is only one time, and it’s specifically within 30 days of purchasing digital software. Sounds to me like a patch to counter bad actors who have been taking advantage of a refund exploit. (So basically what Twintail commented.)
