As I've mostly played PC retro games, there's not much really with classes.
But in Battlefield/Battlefront etc. I tend to prefer playing sniper.
In Phantasy Star Online(/Portable) I preferred "ranger", meaning there shooting oriented, as opposed to close fighter or mage.
So in general I go with something with ranged combat, preferably an all-round class with some lesser healing/magic available.
