Times where critics REALLY missed the mark… A Thread

At the time it was shit on for being short and arcadey. Now people love that stuff as downloadable games. In the years since many Strider fans including myself see it as the best in the franchise. It is short but highly re-playable. 

Daemon X Machina games. They get the same kinda treatment in reviews that Armored Core did in the 2000s. They are legit really good games and really fun. Story in the first one is whatever but the gameplay is good.  First one is more arcade Armored Core and the second is closer to non RPG Action version of Xenoblade X. 

Fragile Dreams on Nintendo Wii.  This is one of the most heart warming but also gut wrenching games. It's an RPG that is post apocalypse. You don't have a party. I don't want to say too much. But ghosts are involved. A love interest. Exploring abandoned ruins. Has a very surreal vibe. Fantastic music. Critics were not super kind to it. But it's one of those games for the handful who played it. Just mention the name and they get happy sad. Happy for a great game. Sad for the story.  If you have a Wii. Track this game down and enjoy.
