Iran’s FM discusses Israeli ‘ceasefire violations’ with Pakistan army chief
Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi says he discussed Israel’s “violations of the ceasefire in Iran and Lebanon” in a phone call with the head of the Pakistani army, General Asim Munir.
In a readout of the talks released by Araghchi on Telegram, Araghchi also said he expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s “effective efforts to end the war and strengthen peace and security in the region”.
Iranian official says will ‘punish’ Israel for ‘crime’ in Lebanon
A senior official in Iran has told Al Jazeera that the country will “punish Israel in response to the crime it committed in Lebanon and the violation of the ceasefire terms”.
“The ceasefire includes the region, and Israel is known for breaking promises and will only be deterred by bullets”, the official said. Iran’s Fars news agency, quoting an unnamed military source, says Iran is preparing a response to Israel’s violation of the ceasefire.
More than 60 locations across Lebanon hit in Israeli assault: UNHCR
The UN Refugee Agency’s office in Lebanon says the Israeli bombardment struck locations across Beirut and other parts of the country.
“Deaths are mounting. Destruction is massive. Civilians are paying the price. Again,” UNHCR Lebanon wrote on X.
One of the largest waves of Israeli strikes so far has just hit over 60 locations across Beirut and beyond.
