No, because they would mess it up. Every official mini-console is a POS. If you want the same gratification as buying an old system and old games, then buy an FPGA clone system that can play original carts/disks. And after that buy repro carts. A lot of times a good repro cart is better than the official rerelease anyway. Limited Run and Strictly Limited Games have both released really awful reprints in the past.

It would be nice if Nintendo actually released a new SNES with a digital store and compatibility with the original carts. But they would have to give it analogue outputs and use the exact same chip designs. So an SNES brand new would probably cost $400 due to the cost of making an entirely new chip factory. They could go the FPGA route but that's pretty expensive too. Analogue charged $220 for a Super NT or Mega SG.
