Last month, we informed you about a mod that aims to restore the content that was cut from Resident Evil 3 Remake. And today, we can share two new videos from it, showcasing 7 minutes of WIP gameplay footage.
For those who did not know, Resident Evil 3 Last Escape will let you explore new city areas, the Clock Tower, the Park, the Disused Plant, the Cemetery, the RPD, and more. It will also rework and add new Nemesis encounters and boss fights.
First Look at Classic Carmageddon With RTX Remix Path Tracing
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/first-look-at-classic-carmageddon-with-rtx-remix-path-tracing/
Modder ‘gabdeg’ is currently working on an RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod for the classic Carmageddon game. While there is no ETA for when it will come out, the modder has shared a video that can give us our first look at it. So, if you are a big Carmageddon fan, you should definitely check it out.
As I said, this RTX Remix Mod is still a WIP. In other words, this video does not represent the quality of its final version. And, as you will see, there are a lot of visual issues right now.
New Fallout: New Vegas Mod Adds a Medium-Sized Fan Expansion Quest
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/new-fallout-new-vegas-mod-adds-a-medium-sized-fan-expansion-quest/
Modder ‘LuptonStewart’ has released a new medium-sized fan expansion quest mod for Fallout: New Vegas, called Light at the End of the Tunnel. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
Light at the End of the Tunnel centers around a group of escaped slaves who need the player’s help. The mod comes with 7 main characters and +2000 lines of voiced dialogue. Moreover, it includes different endings depending on your actions as a player.
As the modder noted, there are three parts to this mod and all of them are dialogue-focused. The mod does not include any major dungeons, but comes with two potential combat encounters. On an initial playthrough, it should take about 2 hours to complete it. It may take longer to complete if you go out of your way to fully interact with all the characters.
The main option to start the quest mod is to simply enter the ‘Old Train Tunnel’ south of Ranger Station Charlie. The entrance to this tunnel is in the vanilla game.
>> The article has a video of the mod, but it’s a short one. Not even 30 seconds.
Forgotten FPS sequel Heretic 2 gets a 'reverse-engineered sourceport' that fixes bugs, improves the framerate and adds 'lots of cosmetic improvements'
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/forgotten-fps-sequel-heretic-2-gets-a-reverse-engineered-sourceport-that-fixes-bugs-improves-the-framerate-and-adds-lots-of-cosmetic-improvements/
Classic boomer shooters Heretic + Hexen received a lavish overhaul courtesy of Nightdive Studios last year, making these classics of the 2.5D FPS era much more accessible on PC. Playing the sequels to Raven Software's early shooters is not so straightforward, however. Hexen 2 is available to buy on Steam in its original, unvarnished form, but the only way to play Heretic 2 is to summon an evil demon and sell your soul for a boxed copy.
This is a shame, because Heretic 2 is the most unusual entry in the whole Heretic/Hexen coven. The sequel breaks rank with all the others by being a third-person action adventure rather than a dedicated FPS. Released in 1998, it received decent reviews at the time, praised for its large, complex level design and grisly 3D action.
There is some good news for those who happen to own a copy of Heretic 2 though. There is now a way to make it easier to play on a modern PC. A programmer who goes by MaxEd on Github has created a "reverse-engineered sourceport" for Raven's fantasy blaster, which is pretty much a remaster in all but name.
Dubbed Heretic2R, the sourceport introduces a bunch of new technical features to the elf wizard Corvus' second adventure. For starters, it adds widescreen support with automatic HUD scaling, and unlocks the framerate to a theoretical maximum of 1,000 FPS.
On top of this, Heretic 2R ensures that in-game special effects update at the appropriate rendering framerate, improves map loading times, and makes "lots of cosmetic improvements" so that "the game plays as you remember it, not as it actually played". Which sounds very remaster-y to me.
Naturally, you need the original Heretic 2 game data in order to run the sourceport, specifically a copy updated to version 1.06. I can't help you with finding a copy of the base game, but the patch is available via PCGamingWiki. Once you've got the right version, you can either overwrite the Heretic 2 binaries with their Heretic2R equivalents, or copy the Heretic2base folder to the Heretic2R folder (though without the .dll files).

5 Minutes of Gameplay From the Doom 3 Fan Remake in Unreal Engine 5
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/5-minutes-of-gameplay-from-the-doom-3-fan-remake-in-unreal-engine-5/
Now here is something that has passed under my radar. A few months ago, YouTube’s ‘François Montagud’ shared a video, showcasing 5 minutes of gameplay from his fan remake of Doom 3 in Unreal Engine 5.
I previously covered this project in May 2025. For whatever reason, though, I missed this 5-minute gameplay video. And, since I’m a big fan of Doom 3, I had to share it with you. So, better late than never, I guess.
Going into more detail, this video showcases the Delta Sector. According to the artist, compared to the May 2025 build, this demo features performance improvements, enhanced visuals (including environment and lighting), and a blend of pre-calculated death animations with real-time physics for more dynamic reactions. We also get to see new demons, such as the Imp and the Mancubus, along with increased interactivity and environmental destruction.
Since this is a one-man project, you should temper your expectations. This does not look as good as a modern remake from a triple-A studio. There are also numerous placeholder graphics. Still, it’s somewhat cool to see Doom 3 in a non-id Software engine. At least in my opinion.
