Jim Ryan's big live-service push sure turned out to be disastrous. Most of the live-service studios they opened or acquired due to that push have now been closed, we've heard of at least 6 live-service games from Jim Ryan's big push that ended up cancelled, and of the live-service games, only Helldivers 2 was truly successful, while Concord flopped hard and Marathon started fairly strong but has fallen off a good bit (down to 53rd most played on Steam and 80th most played on Xbox after less than a month).

I wouldn't go as far to say disastrous. It's definitely been rough waters with all the projects in the graveyard. But Sony's live service push has been successful enough to allow them to pivot away from porting their single player games on PC.
