Yeah the Janta Ka guy looks legit. Didn't know he was a BBC editor.

Iran is a theocratic dictatorship. Nothing they say can be trusted.

Iran's threats can be trusted... They have acted on every escalating strike with a counter escalating strike.

Will Trump follow through on his threats (threatening with war crimes, intl law is truly dead). Iran has already said they will attack power plants in the gulf states and Israel if Trump further escalates. Hopefully another TACO moment or things will get even worse.

Trump threatens to “hit and obliterate” Iran's power plants if Strait of Hormuz not opened in 48 hours

President Donald Trump threatened Saturday to “hit and obliterate” Iranian power plants if Tehran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.

“If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

The threat marks an escalation in rhetoric from Trump, who’s previously dangled the option of hitting Iranian infrastructure but cautioned it would impair the country’s ability to rebuild. And it’s a tacit acknowledgement that the strait’s closure provides Iran significant leverage.

Trump’s latest threat comes a day after he said the US is considering “winding down” military efforts in the Middle East and dismissed questions about the White House’s plan for restoring traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, saying that “at a certain point, it’ll open itself.”

It also comes after Trump said Thursday that he’d told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop attacks on Iranian oil and gas facilities.

Living in fantasy land, even if Iran says ok the straight is open (which they say already, make a deal with us and we'll let your through as Chinese tankers are still getting through) what western tankers are going to risk testing the Straight... Plus it will take months to get oil/gas production back up to speed.

Iran pledges ‘tit-for-tat’ retaliation following Trump’s threats

This is not the first time that Iranians are facing attacks on their infrastructure. Previously, in the second week of the war, the Iranian energy minister said some of the country’s electricity and water infrastructure were targeted. And now [with Trump’s threat], we’re facing another potential major blow.

We have to keep in mind that Iranians have witnessed devastating attacks by the Americans and Israelis on oil facilities in the capital. Those strikes created a lot of damage, specifically when it comes to environmental aspects. Water, soil and air contamination became a serious health concern for people living in Tehran, and that risk remains if further strikes materialise.

We saw an immediate reaction from the Iranian side. The spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters came out shortly after Trump’s statement to spell out a tit-for-tat strategy, and this is very much part of Iran’s posture since the beginning of these air strikes.

They’re saying that if a bank is attacked, we’re going to attack banks. If an oil facility is targeted, we’re going to do the same. So this is just an echo of the same statement that we heard from the spokesperson.

Over 1,400 killed as US-Israeli strikes hit homes, hospitals and schools across Iran

We are hearing sounds consistent with the activation of Tehran’s air defence system, something that typically indicates incoming drone attacks. Reports of explosions are coming from the eastern parts of Tehran as well as from other cities, including Kharg.

Since the start of the conflict, more than 200 cities have been hit by American and Israeli air strikes. Over 1,400 people have been killed, with many more wounded. And when it comes to the targets, it is not just military headquarters, police stations or government buildings – residential areas are being struck as well.

A considerable number of the sites hit are homes and apartments belonging to ordinary civilians. Schools, hospitals and even buildings belonging to the Red Crescent have all been targeted over the past three weeks.

That on top of over 1,000 dead in Lebanon from Israeli strikes.

I just filled up the car today. Did it right after Trump/Netanyahu attacked Iran, was 1.31 per liter then, 1.69 per liter today. During the pandemic gas was 0.79 per liter here.

Okay yeah, maybe their threats can be trusted. What's your source on the 1400 killed by strikes on homes, hospitals, and schools? I just want proof for the people in my life who are Trump fans.
