Which was the better "cut down" model, Xbox Series S or Switch Lite, and why?

A few years ago, I might have said Series S. But I played, or tried to play, Doom: The Dark Ages on the Series S recently and it made me realize how underpowered the thing actually is. The game had such a soft, smeared look to it. I'm very far from being a graphics snob, and even I couldn't deal with it.

Switch Lite is obviously an inferior, less flexible version of Switch, but it doesn't have a significant performance drop-off from its bigger brother. And, to be fair, it's superior in a couple ways, e.g., battery life, d-pad.
