If I'm not mistaken didn't Nintendo keep to their production schedule (Holiday 2024) and just stockpile units throughout early 2025. Essentially they're probably super flexible either way.

Nintendo did do that, but they were already produced and paid for I guess. I am not sure when Sony would have to hand over the money.
