The article has been updated with a new message from Valve stating that the three products will launch this year. But it no longer says first half.

Truth be told, those who will only use it to check their mails and browse the net are likely the target of a laptop this cheap. And it will be more than fine for them if Apple keeps updating the OS, which they'll likely do.
