I'm personally still expecting it to be the way the Android or even how the GPU market operates. There's a reference device by the first-party manufacturer, and third-party OEMs can manufacture their own products based on it, tinker with it, and make it their own.


The ROG Xbox Ally is a good example of this. Supposedly, Xbox is still working on their own first-party handheld, but they also a have a third-party OEM to run the same software. Well, whenever the new Xbox launches, that is. Can even take it a step further by realizing that's how Windows got as big as it did. Through third-party OEMs.
