Marathon numbers seem good to me.

Not the outright flop some wanted but perhaps not the smash hit Sony was expecting. Although it does look like the overall reception of the game is improving as players get more accustomed to its systems.

Yeah with that, only time will tell. Bungie has done a fantastic job with the game. Super polished, looks amazing, and the game feels great to play. If there's anything that will cause the game to not grow as much as Bungie might need, it'll be due to Bungie leaning a bit too much into the nicheness of extraction shooter mechanics.

Marathon isn't a pick up and play game, the way the majority of live service games are. It's a slow burn where you need to take the time to fully understand your character systems, gear systems, all the items in the game, levels of AI enemies, like which ones you can attack and which ones you need to hold off till you're stronger. I saw a clip of Ninja taking on a purple level AI enemy with only basic gear, and of course, he got shredded lol. He instantly rage quit the game lol.

Hopefully the dedicated playerbase will be enough to appease Sony, because Bungie really has knocked it out of the park so far. New map drops tomorrow with the raid releasing at the end of the month. I'm looking forward to hopping back on tonight!
