You know when I first heard that Playstation was bringing it's games to PC, my feelings went nuts! There was so much potential and games they could have brought such as Bloodborne, God of war collection, Nathan Drake collection, Gravity Rush Collection, Ratchet and Clank collection, Sly Cooper Collection, Jack and Dexter collection, Twisted Metal collection and the list goes on. Playstation had an insane portfolio of games that never made it to PC so not only did they have a lot of potential, but they had developers that were renowned for their care and attention to making games.

But what really happened is their handling of PC games has been mixed. High profile ports like Last of Us, Horizon, Spiderman, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank and others was met with shader compilation stutters, graphical bugs, high vram usage and many other issues. These things eventually got fixed but the damage was done and the steam user reviews and refunds kicked in. On the other hand, day 1 releases like Helldivers 2 was met with crazy success on PC.

Now I am not saying that releasing day 1 is all that is needed but I do feel like their a lot of their efforts as been mid. They didn't really put in the care and attention you would expect Playstation developers to do on many PC versions of the games. Even Nexxis which Alex from DF loves has had many issues with their ports during launch.

So I don't really mind this decision of Playstation going back to exclusive only games cause their PC efforts have had a lot to be desired. This is in contrast to many third party developers who do put a lot of effort into their PC ports and get rewarded as such. At the end of the day, whether it's Playstation or PC gamers, people are paying their hard earned money and if you aren't gonna put in the effort...

Games like Helldivers 2 will still launch day and date on PC. It's the single player titles that are effected. I'm surprised it finally dawned on Sony that putting their single player exclusives on PC hurts Playstation sales. Did they not see what happened at Xbox? If all your games are on PC, a significant portion of the market has no reason to buy your console.

Idk what their reasoning was tbh. If it was "Porting games will bring more money" then they did a poor job cause majority of the ports had issues during launch. If it was "Give PC gamers a taste so they will buy a PS5," that's just dumb thinking lol since those that wanted to buy one would have bought one and those that didn't would have even less reasons to buy a ps5. It's just poor execution all around but least we got some games. If I was them, I'd port the old generation collections to PS5 and PC and leave the new first party single player titles on PS5.
